Secret Desert Lodging

If you have ever wanted to re-live a vintage postcard from the 40-50s then the Hicksville Trailer Palace and Artist Retreat in Joshua Tree, CA is the place for you! Secreted away somewhere in the surrounding area of Joshua Tree in the California desert, this sweet set-up has so much appeal. Each individual accommodation is in a vintage themed trailer all set up around a common swimming pool and outdoor activities area. It is doggie friendly and run on solar power. There is no way to know where it is exactly until you book a trailer and get instructions from the hosts. Truly an under-the-radar kind of place and I love it!

Orange Crush

If I ever need to go to to San Francisco my hotel of choice will be Hotel Vertigo. The landmark site of a famous scene at the Empire Hotel in Hitchcock's film Vertigo, this recently renovated boutique hotel is designed with flair and an amusing nod to the color palette of Saul Bass’ famous poster for the film. I LOVE those custom orange wingback chairs with VERTIGO screened on the seats!

Blue Limes

The new Limes Hotel, in Brisbane, is all about the newest, stylish innovations in hotel living. With only 21 rooms, designer Alexander Lotersztain decided to focus on guests' primary travel requirements rather than traditional, 5-star standards. Add to that a gorgeous, innovative exterior, and you have a new definition of the luxury hotel experience. Really digging the facade of the building and the interior view of it from the guest rooms.
